A new nationwide singing competition is now accepting submissions from talented a cappella singers across the United States.
Gray Media and WBTV have launched “Star-Spangled Sing-Off,” a special contest inviting Americans to submit a solo a cappella performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” The competition is part of the lead-up to America’s 250th birthday celebration.
Online submissions are open from May 1 through May 31. Singers must submit a complete solo video performance of the National Anthem. After the submission period closes, viewers will be able to vote for their favorite local and regional performers through social media and online voting.
The grand prize winner will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Nashville to record and film a featured performance. The winning performance will air on WBTV and other Gray Media television stations nationwide.
The final winner is expected to be announced on July 2, just before the country’s 250th anniversary celebrations.
This is a great opportunity for singers who want national exposure and the chance to be part of a major televised production.
Auditions are online only.
