The 2026 Bell Witch Fall Festival is now holding auditions for two exciting productions: Smoke: A Ballad of the Night Riders, directed by Galen Fott, and Spirit: The Authentic Story of the Bell Witch, directed by Erin Grace Bailey.

Both productions will be presented with a focus on historical accuracy, while auditions remain open to performers of all ages, genders, and races. All roles are paid, and Equity roles are available. Performances will take place in Adams, Tennessee.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 27, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Belmont University’s Troutt Theatre Theater Complex in Nashville, TN.

In-person audition sign-ups will be available onsite on a first-come, first-served basis. Upon arrival, actors will receive a QR code to complete the audition form. Virtual auditions are also available by emailing the production team for submission requirements.

Actors should bring a headshot and theatrical resume. Those auditioning for both shows should bring separate headshots and resumes for each production. No prepared monologue is required for in-person auditions, as actors will read sides from the script.

Performers auditioning for Smoke: A Ballad of the Night Riders should also prepare 32 bars of music that showcases their vocal range and provide either a backing track or sheet music for the accompanist.
