Open Auditions: Community Theater “9 to 5” Musical

A community theater production of “9 to 5: The Musical” is holding by-appointment auditions in Maplewood, New Jersey. Based on the hit film, the show follows three coworkers who team up to take down their sexist boss—leading to a hilarious workplace takeover.

• Dates: Jan 23, 24, and 26, 2026 (by appointment)

• Location: Morrow Methodist Church, 600 Ridgewood Rd., Maplewood, NJ

• Be ready to list conflicts from Jan 30 through opening night

What to Prepare

• Cold reads only (no prepared monologues)

• Bring two 30-second song cuts:

  • 1 uptempo + 1 ballad (at least one in a similar style to 9 to 5)

• Bring sheet music in a binder with cuts clearly marked

• Expect a short movement audition
