“Chicago Med” Casting Background Extras for 2026/2027 Season
NBC’s Chicago Med is now filming new episodes for the 2026/2027 season, and casting directors are looking for local background actors in the Chicagoland area.
The popular medical drama, which first premiered in 2015, is part of NBC’s One Chicago franchise. The series follows the doctors, nurses, and staff of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center as they handle emotional, high-pressure medical cases while balancing their personal and professional lives.
For Episode 12001, production is collecting general background submissions from local talent. This casting call is open to any gender, any ethnicity, ages 6 and older, but applicants must live within approximately 2 hours of Chicago.

Filming usually takes place Monday through Friday, with early morning call times. Workdays may last 8 to 12 hours, so applicants should only submit for dates when they have full availability.
