NBC’s hit medical drama Chicago Med is preparing its 2026 season and is now seeking local background actors to appear in upcoming episodes filming in the Chicagoland area.
All roles are paid, non-speaking background positions, ideal for locals with flexible weekday availability who want on-set experience on a network TV show.
About Chicago Med
Premiering in 2015, Chicago Med follows the high-pressure lives of doctors, nurses, and hospital staff at Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. Part of NBC’s popular Chicago franchise, the series continues with new episodes and fresh casting needs each season.
General Background Roles – Episode 11013
Production is currently collecting submissions for general background performers for Episode 11013.
Who They Need:
Any gender
Any ethnicity
Ages 18+
Must live within 2 hours of Chicago
Must have graduated high school and not currently be in classes at time of submission
Note: If minors are needed later, a separate casting notice will be released.
Pay Rate – General Background
$132.80 for up to 8 hours (flat)
Time-and-a-half after 8 hours
Vehicle bump: + $35 if booked with your car on set (no red or white vehicles)

List all dates you’re available between Monday 12/1 and Wednesday 12/10 (Mon–Fri only).
Do not list any date where you have time conflicts.
Expect early-morning call times and 8–12 hour shoot days.
Featured Background – St. Patrick’s Day Partiers
Production is also casting a special featured background group for a St. Patrick’s Day–themed scene.
Role: “Luck of the Irish” – St. Patty’s Day Partiers
Any gender
Any ethnicity
Ages 18+ (high school graduates only)
Types: People who might spend St. Patrick’s Day at the Chicago Riverwalk, watching the river turn green, wearing festive outfits, and playing lively partygoers (acting only – no real drinking on camera).
