Auditions Open for “Quack Quack Philly! A Sensory Theatre Musical”

A new sensory theatre musical, “Quack Quack Philly!”, is now casting performers for its upcoming fall/winter run.

This original show follows Bell, a cheerful duck who lives along Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River. After a powerful storm causes the river to flood, Bell is swept far from home and must find her way back across the city.

Along the journey, Bell explores Philadelphia through different forms of transportation, including a SEPTA bus, the Broad Street Line, and even an unexpected airplane ride. As she travels through neighborhoods, parks, and local landmarks, she meets new friends and discovers the sounds, textures, smells, and surprises of the city.

The production is designed as an interactive sensory experience. Audience members receive a bag of objects to use throughout the performance, helping bring Bell’s adventure to life and guiding her safely home.

Casting Details

The creative team is seeking 4 performers to originate and help create the roles.

This is a two-person show, and the production will cast two casts who will understudy each other when they are not scheduled to perform.

The team is looking for an energetic cast open to devising a sensory musical. Performers with skills in movement, singing, puppetry, education, and instrument playing are especially encouraged to apply.

Submission Requirements

Actors should submit three to four videos:

🎤 A singing video

💃 A movement video

🎭 A short acting monologue, around 60 seconds

✨ Optional: A wild card video

If you play any musical instruments, please include that in your submission as well.

Performance Schedule

This contract is for the fall/winter run of the show. Additional winter performances are scheduled for January 9 and February 15 at the Please Touch Museum.

There will also be a separate spring run of the show in schools from April to May, under a new contract.
