Atlanta Casting Call for Student Short Films in Summer Intensive Program

CAB Castings is currently casting local Atlanta actors for a series of student short films created as part of an industry summer intensive film program in Atlanta, Georgia.
This opportunity is open to actors who want to support emerging filmmakers, gain more on-camera experience, and collaborate with the next generation of storytellers. Each project will be a short film of approximately 10 minutes, written and developed by students as part of their creative training.
Please note that this is a non-paid, non-union student project. Meals will be provided, and participating actors will receive film credit.
Project Details

Audition / Chemistry Read: Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM
Filming Window: July 13–July 17, 2026
Eligibility: Must be 18+ to submit
Talent Needed: Local Atlanta actors only
Selected actors must be available for the in-person audition and chemistry read. Exact shoot dates will vary depending on each student production, so applicants should have open availability during the filming window.
Roles Available
Project 1
Grown Hattie / Harriett – Lead
Female, mid-30s to early 40s, African American, dark-skinned or brown-skinned. Hattie is a social worker still haunted by the childhood she lost. Emotionally guarded and independent, she enters an unconventional trauma recovery center and is forced to face memories she has long avoided.
Dr. X – Lead
Male, mid-60s, African American, dark-skinned or brown-skinned, 5’11”–6’3”. Dr. X is a charismatic psychotherapist and founder of an unusual therapeutic community. He is charming, commanding, and deeply complex. Character reference: Mr. Milchick from Severance.
Marsha – Featured / No Lines
Female, mid-40s, Afro-Latina or Latina, 5’5”–5’7”. Marsha is a longtime resident of the therapeutic community who appears fully immersed in its unsettling lifestyle.
Additional featured non-speaking roles are also available for two adults, ages 30s–50s, people of color. Seeking one man and one woman.
Project 2
Mason Lloyd – Lead
Male, late 20s to early 30s, African American. Mason has recently returned home after more than a decade away. Quiet, disciplined, and emotionally guarded, he carries unresolved grief and guilt. Strong nonverbal acting is essential for this role.
Mrs. Lloyd – Lead
Female, 50s to 60s, African American. Elegant, poised, and well-spoken, Mrs. Lloyd is a warm and loving mother with a slightly unsettling quality beneath the surface.
The Scientist – Featured / No Lines
Male, 50s to 60s, White. Highly intelligent, cold, and emotionally detached. This role requires a strong, commanding presence without dialogue.
